Photoshop who cares?

Attention: open in a new window. E-mail

I have seen a trend that some fashion photographers are annoucing that they do not photoshop their images,  that what you see is what the camera captureed.

I am not going to go into the fact that the image is till processed by the camera's electronics and the download software.

What are the reasons for annoucing this so loud?

Is it to say " I am such a good photographer that I don't need to post process my images"

or " I f I spent an extra 5 minutes I could have fixed this image but I am too lazy to do it"

or ?

Personally I don't care, what has been done to the image, what counts is the image itsself.  The image needs to be able to stand alone without explaination or disclaimer.

If it can do that, it passes... if it needs the disclaimer it doesn't
