Photographic frenzy

Attention: open in a new window. E-mail

I have started a photographic frenzy.... And I am liking some of the images I am producing.

It looks like I have to leave japan for a while, so I have started shooting more. More of Tokyo, more people... Just more.

As usual some of the shots suck, when I look at them I say to myself "what was I thinking?" but others turn out much better then I expected. These images push me to try more and different directions.

Tokyo has power problems.... There are not enough power plants back on line to power the city during the heat of summer.

To make up the difference, a lot of street lighting is turned off. This is allowing me the chance to play more with available darkness images.... And it is fun.

In music, the space between the notes can add to the power of the piece.... In photography, I am finding, the darkness in the image adds to the light.

Sorry to hear you have to leave Glenn. Sounds like you were really settling in. But glad you're shooting lots. I found that when I moved with digital, used to take 20 or so rolls of film a year, no I'm shooting 10s of thousands of pics a year, and I learn something from almost every shot. Happy shooting!
